BioSkinJetting® - Voted best Natural Treatment by GMTV
BioSkinJetting® is a natural way of softening lines and wrinkles without injecting foreign bodies into the skin. It is a subtle and natural method
The BioSkinJetting® method is an entirely natural technique that encourage the bodies own natural collagen and elastin fibres to reproduce under the line or wrinkle to give a plumping effect thus smoothing the skin.
All wrinkles and scars can be treated using this method which is based on the skin's regenerative capacity. This means that the skin is stimulated to fill up the wrinkle or the scar. Fine wrinkles disappear and deep wrinkles become visibly less deep.

BioSkinJetting and BioSkinSmoothing
BioSkinJetting is a completely natural method for correcting wrinkles by stimulating the individual processes of healing and correcting defects without using other products or implanting foreign bodies locally. As no substances are injected into the skin there is no risk of allergies or unforeseen reactions and is is hailed completely safe. However the procedure is very versatile and other procedure options can be incorporated into a course or ‘care package’ including fillers of choice, botulinum toxin, laser and/or IPL. The BSJ method is effective for wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes, on the cheeks, the upper lip, the chin, nasolabial fold and cleavage. Using subscision principles by agitating immediately underneath the wrinkle or depression, the skin is stimulated into forming new tissue with often immediate results of visibly reduced wrinkles or depressions. The skin is responsible itself for the formation of collagen, results are long-lasting and natural with reports of up to two years following a course of up to seven treatments.

Post-procedure appearance of the skin
Initially following treatment, the wrinkles or depressions are transformed into fine red lines, which fade within a few days, in the intervening period these are completely camouflaged by good quality camouflage products.
Number and length of treatments
Depending on the number of wrinkles, a treatment may vary in duration between 15 and 40 minutes. The initial recommended course of between five to seven treatments is repeated every 10-14 days with the number of treatments required dependant upon age, lifestyle and the depth of the wrinkles.
After completion of treatment the natural ageing process continues gradually with lasting results largely dependent upon heredity factors and lifestyle. Negative influences include: sunbathing, smoking, alcohol, abuse, stress, shortage of vitamins and a poor quality or harsh skincare range. Following the initial course, occasional top-ups of just one or two treatments ensure results remain effective.
Anaesthetic
Many people have received BioSkinJetting treatments with very little discomfort. Light topical anaesthetic cream can be first applied to the skin if required but in many cases (particularly around the eyes or forehead) clients prefer not to wait the required time, as this area is the least sensitive.
Aftercare
An aftercare product containing ingredients including camomile, tea tree and arnica to help protects, soothe and calm the skin, accelerating the disappearance of the temporary redness has been developed. Camouflage make-up can be used to mask the appearance of the red lines following treatment – a full range is available at the Laser Clinic.
Acne scarring
There are two methods of treating acne scarring. Initially, the area is warmed using the Smoothing Machine developed by Sterex. This high frequency unit uses the alternating oscillating high voltage current to produce the effect of heat within the skin tissue, stimulating blood and lymph circulatory flow and cellular regeneration. The operating tool is a light hand held want holder containing a disposable, sterile 24 carat gold plated wand. Following smoothing, a needle is introduced under the skin and the area is treated, similar to subscisions, with the use of a fine needle to break up scar tissue under certain types of acne scars. The scar tissue underneath the surface of the skin pulls the top layers of skin down, creating a depression. Most commonly these types of scars occur with severe cystic acne. They are usually found on the cheeks, temples and chin but can be found over the back and occur in many other areas.
How did BioSkinJetting develop?
BioSkinJetting is based on the principle of subscision which is a minor surgical procedure that does not involve cutting the skin, but rather separating areas of fixation or depression under the skin to have the effect of smoothing the surface of the skin.
How does subscision work?
Sub(depression) scission (separating) appeared initially as a cellulite treatment which then developed into an accepted scar treatment. Skin naturally adheres to underlying structures through collagen fibrous tie. These ties limit lateral and vertical movement of the skin. The subcutaneous fatty tissue is distributed between these ties. These very ties, while maintaining the skin in place, can also be the source of cosmetic blemishes by causing localised depressions (cellulite) or folds.
The efficacy of subscision rests on two joint mechanisms of activity. Firstly, the tension fibres under the skin are disengaged by attaching them to the underlying structures in order to lift the skin. Then a small controlled trauma is created to prompt the tissue repair mechanisms which results in connective tissue forming and ‘filling in’ the depression area.
Due to the fact that tissue repair and synthesis varies from one individual to the other, it is not possible to predict with certainty how many subscision treatments would be required to correct a particular problem.
The physiological principles behind subscision has had a lasting legacy, however, as Sterex Electrolysis International can testify. A new treatment influenced by the same but effective principles behind subscision has now surfaced. In Belgium, Mme Pascaud, head of a famous skincare institute became interested in subscision and trained in the procedure in the US. The institute then carried out ongoing research and development and a year later in 2000 launched a new, credible, highly marketable, anti-wrinkle and atrophic scar treatment named BioSkinJetting.
Sterex, in 2002, developed BioSkinSmoothing in collaboration with the Belgian Institute – primarily to improve the lifting results with wrinkles, to enable more effective and successful treatments of minor atrophic scars such as those left by acne, chicken pox etc and also to have a degree of success in treating hypertrophic scarring.
The treatments were then named BioSkinJetting and BioSkinSmoothing and today remain popular effective treatment, for ageing skin as well as an accepted choice for scars (atrophic and hypertrophic) and with Sterex pioneering these beneficial treatments there are now practitioner in the treatment all over the world.

In a study of subscision for acne scarring: technique and outcome in 40 patients, MEDLINE concluded that subscision appears to be a safe technique that may provide significant long-term improvement in the ‘rolling scars’ of selected patients and of the 40 patient who completed treatment, six month follow up data showed approximately 50% improvement. Ninety percent of treated patients reported that subscision improved their appearance.
